Here is my bio… on the rocks

Hello, I’m Joana. Born in the beautiful Black Forest in 1995, I grew up with a deep connection to nature and the fascinating animal world from an early age. My heart especially beats for snow, ice, and the frosty cold, which have always fascinated me.

My path initially led me into the world of veterinary medicine, driven by the desire to work for the vulnerable inhabitants of the polar regions. After completing my studies, I decided to take an even more interdisciplinary approach and started studying biogeosciences in Jena. Maybe a little unconventional, but exactly the right path for me.

I experience the best moments outside, whether it be camping with my husband or alone in my tiny camper, a Twingo with great adventure potential. Always looking for new challenges, I find fulfilment in both scientific projects and creative craft projects.

And now I’m happy to present my latest project: Bio On The Rocks – a website that combines my personal passions and my love for science. Here I not only share my travels and experiences, but also information about the places where Ice, Soil and Life meet.
